Cowen Expands Its Leadership Team

Ann Neidenbach Appointed Chief Information Officer;

Kelly Weigel Named Head of Marketing and Client Services;

Patrice Growney Aitken Joins Equity Sales and Trading Team

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Jul. 5, 2017— Cowen Inc. (NASDAQ:COWN) (“Cowen” or the “Company”) today announced that Ann Neidenbach, who joined the firm upon the closing of the Company’s recent acquisition of Convergex, has been appointed Managing Director and Chief Information Officer and will direct the firm’s global strategic technology innovations across all business lines. In addition, Kelly Weigel was promoted to Head of Marketing and Client Services and will oversee the coordination of the firm’s global corporate access, marketing and communications initiatives. Finally, Patrice Growney Aitken has joined Cowen’s Equity Sales and Trading team as Managing Director and Head of Mid-Atlantic Equity Sales.

Biographies:

Patrice Aitken:

As Cowen Managing Director and Head of Mid-Atlantic Equity Sales, Ms. Growney Aitken provides her expertise, insight and advice to assist the firm’s clients’ investment process. Ms.Growney Aitken previously worked at Credit Suisse where she was a Managing Director in Institutional Equity Sales primarily covering the Mid-Atlantic region for over 17 years. She also held similar roles with Donaldson Lufkin Jenrette where she was a recipient of the firm’s Super Achiever Award. Ms. Growney Aitken started her career as a trader at Kidder Peabody. Ms. Growney Aitken received a BA in Journalism from the Bellisario College of Communications from Penn State University.

Ann Neidenbach:

Ms. Neidenbach, a well-known technology expert, joins Cowen following its recent acquisition of Convergex and has over 25 years of experience in the global financial industry. As Cowen Managing Director and Chief Information Officer, Ms. Neidenbach is responsible for providing strategic direction of Cowen’s technology innovation across all its businesses and will lead the firm’s software development, information services, business processes and technical infrastructure. Prior to joining Cowen, Ms. Neidenbach held similar positions at Convergex and NASDAQ and also held senior positions at Citibank and Lava Trading. Ms. Neidenbach currently serves as an advisor on the UTP/CTA Committee and also serves on the Paxos Market Advisory Group. Ms. Neidenbach has a BS degree from the Whitman School of Management, Syracuse University.

Kelly Weigel:

Kelly Weigel is Managing Director and Head of Marketing and Client Services and is responsible for overseeing and managing the firm’s global marketing activities, media relations, corporate access, conferences and research analyst marketing. Prior to joining Cowen, Ms. Weigel ran her own consulting company that provided conference logistics and one-on-one meeting coordination for a variety of investment banks. Ms. Weigel also spent 14 years at Bank of America (formerly Montgomery Securities) in the corporate access and syndicate groups. Ms. Weigel has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California at Berkeley.
