Ray Cameron Joins Cowen Group as Managing Director and Head of Corporate Access

NEW YORK, Jul 06, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) —

Cowen Group, Inc. (“Cowen”) (NASDAQ: COWN) today announced that Ray
Cameron has joined the firm as a Managing Director and Head of Corporate
Access. He is based in New York and reports to John O’Donoghue, Cowen’s
Head of Equities. In this role, Mr. Cameron is responsible for further
fostering relationships between corporate clients and the investment
community.

Mr. Cameron spent the majority of his career at Morgan Stanley, where he
held positions of increasing responsibility in institutional equity
sales over 15 years. As Head of Morgan’s Corporate Access business, he
developed a differentiated business model to provide access to corporate
executives for institutional investors. After that, Mr. Cameron was with
Lehman Brothers/Barclays Capital where he was a Managing Director, in
charge of reengineering and expanding their Corporate Access franchise.
Most recently, as Head of Issuer Services at LiquidNet, he led the
business initiative to extend the company’s product offerings into
research and equity capital markets. He is a graduate of the University
of Texas at Austin and holds a MBA from Southern Methodist University.
