Cowen Commemorates Its 100th Anniversary by Ringing Nasdaq Opening Bell on Friday, September 28, 2018

NEW YORK, Sept. 28, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Cowen Inc. (NASDAQ: COWN) (“Cowen” or the “Company”) today announced that it is celebrating its 100th Anniversary and will commemorate this occasion by ringing the Nasdaq Stock Market opening bell on Friday, September 28, 2018. By achieving this important milestone, Cowen joins a select group of financial services firms who have successfully provided clients with a comprehensive suite of financial products and services for more than a century.

Since the founding of the firm in 1918 as a bond trading house, Cowen significantly grew and reshaped the organization, most recently with its 2009 merger with Ramius, a multi-billion-dollar alternative investment manager. Since then, Cowen has continued to transform itself into a robust financial services organization through a series of organic initiatives and strategic acquisitions. Today, the Company is focused on its mission to deliver value-added capabilities to those clients who seek to outperform their peer groups. By advising and connecting providers and users of capital to help them outperform, Cowen has become a recognized leader in alternative investment management, investment banking for growth-oriented companies, sophisticated research, institutional sales and trading, cross asset solutions, prime brokerage, global clearing and commission management.

Jeffrey M. Solomon, Cowen CEO said: “We are so proud of everyone at Cowen who has been instrumental in helping our organization to achieve this milestone.  We believe the hallmark of success and longevity, in an ever-changing market environment, is the ability to stay ahead of the curve by positioning ourselves for a future filled with many opportunities to helping our clients to achieve their goals. As we embark on our next century, we do so with great pride in the loyalty of our clients and the hard work of our employees, past and present, who have embodied—and continue to embody—the core values of Cowen: vision, empathy, sustainability and tenacious teamwork.”

Members of Cowen’s team will join Solomon to ring the bell. The ceremony will be held at Nasdaq’s MarketSite in New York City and will be webcast live starting at 9:20 a.m. Eastern time via the following link: https://livestream.com/nasdaq/live.
