Vicarious Surgical Inc. (“Vicarious” or “the Company”) is a pre-commercial surgical robotics company combining advanced miniaturized robotics, computer science and 3D visualization to build an intelligent and affordable, single-incision surgical robot, called the Vicarious System, that virtually transports surgeons inside the patient to perform minimally invasive surgery. The Vicarious System is designed with a fundamentally different architecture, and proprietary “de-coupled actuators,” to overcome many of the limitations of open surgery or existing robot-assisted surgical procedures with a minimally invasive and more capable robotic system. For its first indication, the Company plans to file a de novo application with the FDA for use in ventral hernia procedures in early 2025.
