Michael Benwitt

Mr. Benwitt is a Managing Director and the Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel of TD Cowen Investment Management LLC. Mr. Benwitt joined the firm (then Ramius LLC) in May 2007 and was named General Counsel in 2012 and Chief Operating Officer in 2016. Previously, Mr. Benwitt was an Associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell, where his practice focused on investment management, mergers and acquisitions, and derivatives.

Mr. Benwitt graduated with distinction from the University of Toronto in 2001 with a B.Com in Economics and Finance, and received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Mr. Benwitt is a member of the New York State bar.
