Senior Retail Analyst Joins Cowen Research Department

Faye Landes to Cover Apparel, Footwear, Textiles, Broadlines and
Specialty Stores

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Oct. 15, 2012–
Cowen Group, Inc. (“Cowen”) (NASDAQ: COWN) today announced that Faye
Landes has joined the firm’s Equity Research department as a Managing
Director to cover Apparel, Footwear, Textiles, Retailing Broadlines and
Specialty Stores companies. Ms. Landes, based in New York, reports to Robert Fagin, Cowen’s Director of Research.

Ms. Landes’ career in consumer equity research spans over two decades.
She joins Cowen from Consumer Edge, a boutique research firm, where she
covered large cap retailers and branded vendors. Faye brings valuable
buyside experience to her role at Cowen, including senior positions at
Ziff Brothers, Moore Capital and Dawson-Herman. Prior to her roles on
the buyside, Faye was a sellside equity analyst at Salomon Smith Barney,
Thomas Weisel Partners and Sanford C. Bernstein, and was recognized as a
top-ranked analyst on Institutional Investor’s All America Research Team
for six straight years. She holds an AB from Princeton University and an
MBA from New York University.
