Cowen Expands Institutional Equity Sales Team

Erica Yoon Joins as Managing Director, to Focus on Technology, Media
and Telecom Sales

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Feb. 10, 2014–
Cowen Group, Inc. (“Cowen”) (NASDAQ:COWN) today announced the expansion
of Cowen and Company’s institutional equity sales team with the
appointment of Erica Yoon. Ms. Yoon joins as Managing Director with a
focus on technology, media and telecom (TMT) sales. She will be based in
New York and report to Philip Cushman, Cowen’s Head of Equity Sales.

Ms. Yoon joins Cowen from Pacific Crest Securities, where she was a
Managing Director and drove coverage for large New York institutional
clients. Previously, she was a Managing Director at UBS, focused on TMT
sales. For 15 years prior to that, Ms. Yoon held senior TMT sales roles
at Jefferies and Merrill Lynch. Ms. Yoon holds a BA in Economics from
Wellesley College and an MBA in finance from The University of Chicago,
Booth School of Business.
