Cowen Adds Two Senior Technology Analysts to Equity Research Team
Matthew Ramsay to Cover Semiconductors
Krish Sankar to Cover Semiconductor Capital Equipment and IT Hardware
NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Mar. 5, 2018–
Cowen Inc. (NASDAQ:COWN) (“Cowen” or the “Company”) announced today that
Matthew Ramsay and Krish Sankar have joined the Company’s Technology,
Media and Telecom (TMT) equity research team as Managing Directors,
playing key roles in the Company’s expansion of semiconductors and
semiconductor capital equipment and IT hardware coverage. Messrs. Ramsay
and Sankar are based in Cowen’s San Francisco office, reporting to
Robert Fagin, Director of Research.
Cowen’s TMT team now spans 20 publishing analysts covering a broad scope
of Technology, Media and Telecommunications stocks, credits and
Washington policy issues affecting the TMT industry. Messrs. Ramsay and
Sankar will work alongside Cowen Senior Analyst, Karl Ackerman, who will
continue to build out Cowen’s insightful coverage of semiconductor and
storage stocks.

Prior to joining Cowen, Mr. Ramsay worked as an analyst at Canaccord
Genuity, where he covered semiconductor stocks. He previously worked as
a senior design engineer at AMD and held senior performance engineering
roles at Sun Microsystems and Spansion. Mr. Ramsay holds a BS in
Computer Engineering from the University of Evansville, where he was
also a NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer athlete. He also holds an MS in
Electrical Engineering & Computer Architecture from the University of
Wisconsin, and an MBA from Indiana University’s Kelley School of
Business.
Mr. Sankar most recently worked as a top-ranked analyst at Bank of
America Merrill Lynch for almost 14 years, where he covered the
semiconductor capital equipment, EDA software, and alternative energy
sectors. Prior to joining Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Mr. Sankar was
a product manager at Applied Materials. He holds a B.Tech (with Honors)
in Ceramic Engineering from IIT, and an MS in Materials Science and
Engineering from the University of Minnesota.
