Amrit Agrawal Joins Cowen Group’s Global Capital Markets Group

NEW YORK, Oct 27, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) —

Cowen Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: COWN) today announced that Amrit Agrawal has
joined the firm as a Managing Director in the Global Capital Markets
group. Mr. Agrawal will be primarily responsible for advising corporate
clients on financing solutions across the capital structure, including
on acquisition finance. Mr. Agrawal will also assist clients with
private debt placements, exchange offers, consent solicitations and
tender offers. Mr. Agrawal will be based in New York and will report to
Kevin Reynolds, Head of Global Capital Markets.

Prior to joining Cowen, Mr. Agrawal was Managing Director and Co-Head of
Technology, Media & Telecom (“TMT”) Strategic Finance at Bear Stearns.
Mr. Agrawal was part of the group responsible for establishing Bear
Stearns’ Strategic Finance business for clients in the TMT industry
verticals. He also contributed to Bear Stearns’ U.S. Capital Markets
business for clients based in India and China. Prior to his time at Bear
Stearns, he worked in the capital markets group at Bankers Trust.
