Alternative Energy Analyst Jeffrey Osborne Joins Cowen’s Equity Research Department

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Jul. 7, 2014–
Cowen Group, Inc. (“Cowen”) (NASDAQ: COWN) today announced that Jeffrey
Osborne
has joined Cowen and Company’s Equity Research department as a
Managing Director to cover the Alternative Energy sector. Mr. Osborne,
based in New York, reports to Robert Fagin, Cowen’s Director of Research.

“Jeff is known for his detailed analysis and deep technical
understanding of the alternative energy sector,” said Mr. Fagin.

Mr. Osborne joins Cowen from Stifel Financial Corp. (formerly Thomas
Weisel Partners
), where he spent seven years covering alternative
energy, clean technology, industrials and environmental services stocks.
Prior to this, he was in CIBC World Markets’ equity research group where
he covered technology and alternative energy stocks. Before to his move
to sell-side equity research, Jeff was an analyst focused on technology
and telecommunications stocks at Munder Capital Management in
Birmingham, Michigan. Mr. Osborne holds a Bachelor of Science degree in
business administration and economics from Trinity University and an MBA
from Wayne State University.
