Adrian Schultes Appointed Managing Director and Head of Distribution for Ramius Alternative Solutions

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Ramius LLC, the global alternative investment management business of Cowen Group, Inc (“Cowen”) (NASDAQ:COWN – News), today announced that Adrian Schultes has joined the firm in New York as a Managing Director and Head of Distribution for Ramius Alternative Solutions LLC (“RASL”), reporting to Thomas W. Strauss, President and CEO of Ramius, LLC. In this newly created role, Mr. Schultes will help to lead RASL’s marketing and distribution activities and will be responsible for increasing awareness of the group’s tailored hedge fund investment and advisory solutions.

Mr. Schultes joins Ramius from Pacific Investment Management Company (PIMCO), where he served as Senior Vice President of Institutional Direct Marketing & Consultant Relations. In this capacity, he was responsible for advancing business development initiatives, identifying corporate prospects, and cultivating professional relationships. While at PIMCO, Mr. Schultes serviced institutional clients and consultants and coordinated the construction and implementation of marketing campaigns, among other responsibilities. Prior to this, Mr. Schultes spent over seven years at Ibbotson Associates and held various senior positions with increasing responsibilities, including Regional Director of Institutional Sales, where he was responsible for growing a strategic Northeastern sales territory as well as directing and supervising sales for the European territory. He has also held positions in accounts and marketing at Bridge Information Systems and Credit Suisse Private Banking in New York, as well as in private banking at Swiss Bank Corporation in Zurich, Switzerland. Mr. Schultes received his BA in Economics and German from Bucknell University and has completed studies at the University of Freiburg in Germany.
