Job Overview

TD Cowen is seeking a top-rated technologist with the experience and background in the financial services industry that will enable them to excel in a dynamic and highly technical environment. The successful candidate will need technological skills as well as organizational and communication skills. 

Responsibilities:

  • Enhance applications that support our trading desks.
    • These include applications that are built entirely in-house as well as processes that work with vendor-based applications.
  • Assist in technical analysis of the trading workflow to investigate issues.
  • Learn the path to the various connection points, interfaces, and downstream systems to analyze impact.
    • Document and provide the findings to Senior Business Analyst.
  • Participate in the various trading projects that involve configuration and setup of the technical workflow.
  • Create flowcharts and technical specification documents.
  • Assist in the testing and implementation of enhancements to the technical system.
  • Coordinate to notify business users of production rollouts.
  • Technical tasks include reading scripts, interpreting FIX messages, reviewing technical configuration, and scheduled jobs setup.

Job Requirements/Qualifications

  • 3+ years’ experience working in a sell side brokerage firm
  • 3+ years’ experience in working on an order / execution management system (OMS/EMS)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Strong documentation skill
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Demonstrate ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented, collaborative / matrix environment

The expected base salary ranges from $100,000 - $160,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licenses or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
