Investment Banking Sr. Associate/Vice President, Technology

Cowen’s Investment Banking TMT group is currently seeking a Senior Associate or Vice President. The successful candidate will play a vital role in all aspects of sourcing and executing Software transactions and maintaining strategic dialog with clients. The candidate will be responsible for managing and executing a wide range of complex transactions. He or she will also play a critical role in developing junior professionals.

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing and directing detailed valuation analyses, including DCF, trading comparables, transaction precedents and LBO modeling
  • Constructing detailed merger consequences and other financial analyses in the context of M&A transactions
  • Managing deal execution and project management throughout the transaction
  • Preparing presentation materials and participating in and leading marketing meetings with key clients
  • Interacting with senior Cowen team members and client management teams on a daily basis to execute transactions and discuss strategic alternatives
  • Providing leadership, mentorship and supervision to Associates and Analysts

Qualifications

Candidates must have a strong interest in investment banking underpinned by solid quantitative and analytical skills.  He or she should be able to think creatively about a range of strategic issues confronting the firm’s clients and have an exceptional grasp on accounting, valuation, finance, and business strategy.  Specific qualifications include:

  • Bachelors’ degree from a leading university; MBA is preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years working in investment banking , industry specific transaction experience is a plus
  • High levels of ethics, integrity and judgment
  • Ability to comfortably interact with senior clients in a professional setting
  • Strong intellectual curiosity
  • Extensive financial modeling skills
  • Comfort working in, and commitment to a team-oriented environment
  • Highly organized, detail oriented and proactive
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
