Job Overview

Cowen is seeking a technologist with the experience and background in the financial services industry that will enable them to excel in a dynamic and highly technical environment.  The developer will work on developing and enhancing applications that support our trading desks.  These include applications that are built entirely in-house as well as applications that work with vendor-based applications.  

Location: New Jersey/New York 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Developing applications as per requirements provided
  • Working with various groups for Testing and UAT
  • Level 3 support in Production 

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years’ experience working in a sell side brokerage Firm and 3+ years’ experience working on an order / execution management system (OMS/EMS).
  • Strong interpersonal and people leadership skills; able to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented, collaborative / matrix
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and uses initiative to act on opportunities.
  • Ability to efficiently troubleshoot in time critical & pressured scenarios.
  • Ability to face off to very demanding stakeholders, managing their expectations and develop strong working relationships.
  • Attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality and integrity.

Technical Skills: 

  • net: 4-5 years with Familiarity with .net Core
  • C#: 4-5 years
  • Javascript, JQuery, CSS: 3+ years
  • MVC: 3+ years
  • Web Sockets, Familiarity with real time data: 1+ year
  • API Implementations: 1+ years
  • Microsoft SQL Server: 1-3 years
  • GIT/SVN
  • Razor – Nice to have
  • Kendo Grids – Nice to have
  • Automation tools; Autosys – Nice to have
