Equity Research - Thematic Content Associate

Cowen, an investment bank with a presence on Wall Street since 1918 and known for its focus on disruptive innovation, is looking for an Equity Research, Thematic Content Associate to join its Thematic Content Research team. The position is located in New York at Cowen’s headquarters. Full-time availability is required of applicants.
The successful candidate will work with the head of thematic content, a member of Cowen’s Research Management team, on thematic updates, presentations, data analysis, reports, and marketing materials related to the big trends that cut horizontally across industries, with a particular focus on emerging areas of disruption and innovation. Some of the themes we work on include ESG, robotics & automation, cannabis, energy transition, mobility, health care innovation, and cryptocurrencies & digital assets, to name a few.
We leverage the insights from 61 analysts and numerous Cowen proprietary survey products to provide reports and presentations on the pivotal trends that we believe will drive the market. As part of our management responsibilities, we provide valuable input to analyst teams on content strategy, including insights gleaned from readership data across the firm. Work will include collecting and analyzing data, uncovering insights, creating charts/graphics, crafting written summaries, curating our best reports and events, and creating PowerPoint presentations.

- Comfort with excel data analysis tools or other data analysis software suites
- Good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate material from multiple sources
- Solid working knowledge of PowerPoint

The Associate will gain broad exposure to Cowen’s management team, research products, analysts & associates, and thought-leadership events. The Associate will develop a strong working knowledge of many sectors and stock drivers. The Associate will advance their knowledge of how great research is created and marketed and how to drive differentiation.
