Job Overview

Cowen is currently seeking Associate candidates for our Tech-Enabled Services Investment Banking Group located in New York. The Tech-Enabled Services group at Cowen provides clients with a full array of products and services including strategic M&A and capital markets advisory, IPOs, follow-on offerings, private equity placements, PIPEs, convertible debt and high yield. Within the broad services universe, the Tech-Enabled Services team focuses on the following sectors:

  • Payments and Related Software
  • Financial Technology
  • Digital Assets / Blockchain Technology
  • Money Movement
  • Information and Data Services
  • Employer Services / HCM
  • RPA and Information Technology Services

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing and/or assisting in the preparation of financial models and business valuations
  • Conducting deep industry and company-specific due diligence
  • Managing deal execution and project management throughout the transaction
  • Executing on pitch work and client follow-up requests
  • Preparing presentation materials and participating in marketing meetings with key clients
  • Interacting with senior Cowen team members and client management teams on a daily basis to execute transactions and discuss strategic alternatives

Job Requirements/Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree from a leading university, MBA a plus
  • Minimum of 2 -5 years working in investment banking, with Technology, Services or FinTech transaction experience a strong preference
  • Ability to comfortably interact with senior clients in a professional setting
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid technical / financial modeling skills
  • Strong intellectual curiosity
  • Highly organized, detail oriented and proactive
  • Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter with the capacity to work independently and in small teams
