Job Description

Cowen’s New York based Strategic Capital team is looking for a Business Analyst to help drive all aspects of coordination, project management and business strategy for the team.
Responsibilities include:

  • Organizing and managing client and deal information (i.e. fund size, investment criteria, sector areas of focus etc.) from various sources into the firm’s CRM system
  • Developing a thorough understanding of key client strategies, portfolios and investment criteria
  • Assisting in the set up and relationship management of clients and company management teams
  • Collaborating with internal industry teams, equity research and other firm resources to develop ideas for presentation to clients and portfolio companies
  • Preparing presentation materials and participating in pitches
  • Coordinating deal execution and project management throughout any resulting transaction
  • Work closely with Strategic Capital team members and business heads to establish requirements for client reporting
  • Spearhead and coordinate firm’s cross-sell efforts across Banking, Trading and Investment Management (bi-monthly meeting)
  • Attend prospect meetings with entrepreneurs, investors and family owned businesses
  • Assist with weekly write-up for external clients and internal employees related to family office activity and trends

Job Requirements & Qualifications

  • 1 – 3 years of financial services experience
  • Understanding of Financial Sponsors business or general investment banking
  • Proficiency with MS Office, willingness to learn new databases and systems
  • Experience or familiarity with CRM systems
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
