Cowen is looking for an Associate to work for its Aerospace & Defense Research team. 

The successful candidate will work directly with the Senior Research Analysts on many aspects of the research process including: performing financial analysis and due diligence, writing investment-driven research reports, developing and fielding industry surveys and undertaking a wide array of industry analyses and competitive assessments. The associate will have broad exposure to company managements, investor conferences, and the research process that professional investment analysts utilize to make investments and recommendations. The following are the minimum requirements for the position:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or MBA with superior academic credentials
  • 2+ years sell or buy side research experience preferably in the A&D or broader industrial space
  • CFA or CFA track a plus
  • Strong financial modeling skills, with attention to detail, and ability to write clearly and succinctly
  • Creative, self-directed research capabilities, comfort with ambiguity & imperfect information
  • Passion for investing and the equity markets
  • Hard-working, can-do attitude with a desire to learn and excel
  • Proven ability to work well on teams with flexibility to put in long hours when needed
