Inclusion & Diversity Manager

Cowen is seeking to hire an Inclusion & Diversity Manager to join our newly established function. In this role, the I&D manager will report to the Managing Director, Head of Inclusion & Diversity, a function reporting directly to the CEO.  In addition to managing an array of processes and programs and working across business divisions and functions, this new role will benefit from close partnerships with Human Resources and Marketing & Communications, as well as leadership visibility and collaboration opportunities across the company. The ideal candidate will have experience in one or more of the following: people analytics or diversity recruitment, communication or consulting.

Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with the Head of I&D, determine and define the scope and objectives of I&D programs, projects, and initiatives
  • Establish relationships with key stakeholders (e.g., ERG leads, partners in HR, Marketing and Operations) to execute on priorities for diversity and inclusion
  • Compile, track and synthesize diversity and inclusion metrics, dashboards and reports
  • Manage inclusion and diversity messaging and communications to position Cowen appropriately in the marketplace and to internal stakeholders
  • Develop and manage relationships with relevant external partners with a focus on the diverse recruiting space
  • Project and event/activity planning
  • Oversee the responses to surveys, RFPs, and client diversity inquiries as well as sponsorship request
  • Provide input into the development of training content in support of I&D

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree, advanced degree a plus
  • 5+ years of corporate business experience
  • Experience with people or people related programing such as diversity or talent management
  • Experience interacting with different executive levels, both internally and externally
  • Ability to work independently and flexibly, managing multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Sound judgment and ability to maintain highly confidential and sensitive information
  • Ability to build consensus and relationships among all levels of an organization
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Advanced skill in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
