Full Time Analyst Opportunities
Each year Investment Banking hires around twenty five college graduates in our two – three year analyst program. There are openings in New York, San Francisco, Chicago and Houston offices. Interviews take place throughout August and September preceding your graduation year. Full-time analyst recruiting activity is driven by group needs following the outcome of the summer analyst program, Cowen’s main resource for analyst candidates.

Analyst positions require a minimum two-year commitment. Depending on individual performance, many analysts are invited to stay for a third year. Superior performers are often promoted to Associate at the end of their third year.

The analyst program begins in July in New York. The program provides a five week introduction and orientation to the firm and its capabilities. The curriculum includes coursework in accounting, communications skills, financial analysis, modeling, valuation and Excel. The program is thorough, combining the substance of a much larger bank’s training program with the personal attention found in a seminar.

Summer Analysts Opportunities
Annually, Investment Banking has opportunities for about thirty-five college juniors as summer analysts; positions are typically available in our NYC, San Francisco, Chicago, Detroit and Houston offices. The positions are in the Healthcare, Technology, Information & Technology Services, Consumer, Energy, Industrials, Special Situations and Financial Sponsors corporate finance groups as well as in the M&A, Equity and Capital Markets product groups.

All of our summer hires spend ten weeks with us, starting in early June with a week-long training program in New York.  Weekly lunches with senior leaders throughout Cowen, a successful mentor program and day-to-day opportunities to do “real” work and contribute to the teams’ successes distinguish our program from those at other firms.
