Cowen's Culture of Giving
Cowen encourages charitable involvement at the local and national level with both the firm and its employees contributing time and money to a variety of causes. We are proud of their collective actions help make the world a better place.
Cowen Cares is the umbrella for our corporate philanthropic activities. Cowen encourages a culture of giving and service, with many of our employees participating in a range of charitable causes on a local and national level.
The annual Wall Street Run and Heart Walk, which supports the American Heart Association, is one of our anchor events. Thomas W. Strauss and the late Morgan Stark co-founded this event many years ago. In 2017, there were 12,000 participants with the event raising more than $3 million.
We also give back to the local community through volunteer days with New York Cares. Our last project took place at an elementary school where we organized the library and book rooms, touched up existing murals and participated in light gardening.
Giving should be fun and easy. So, throughout the year we hold “Wear Jeans to Work Day” in exchange for a small donation to a charity.
Many of our employees are active with philanthropic activities away from the office. We are proud of all that they do.
