John Kernan is a research analyst covering the branded apparel and specialty retail industries. Prior to joining Cowen and Company in August 2008, Mr. Kernan was an equity research associate at Morgan Keegan covering a mix of large-, medium-, and small-cap consumer products companies spread across the hardline retail sector and the supply chain. Prior to Morgan Keegan, Mr. Kernan spent four years as an equity trader at Trillium Trading specializing in trading OTC NASDAQ and listed stocks. Mr. Kernan has a BA in political science from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina. Mr. Kernan is a CFA charterholder.

Faye Landes is a managing director and senior research analyst. She covers broadlines retailers, footwear and apparel vendors, and luxury goods companies. Most recently, Ms. Landes was a managing director at Consumer Edge Research, a sell-side boutique. Prior to working at Consumer Edge, she spent eight years on the buy side, at Ziff Brothers Investments, Moore Capital, and Dawson-Herman. Earlier in her career, Ms. Landes was a sell-side analyst at several major firms, including Salomon Smith Barney and Sanford C. Bernstein, and was ranked in the Institutional Investor survey for six years, including three years at #1. She holds an AB from Princeton University and an MBA from New York University's Stern School of Business.
Paul Westra

Paul Westra is a senior research analyst covering the restaurant industry. He has more than 15 years' experience as an equity research analyst. Prior to joining Cowen and Company, Mr. Westra was the senior analyst covering restaurants with Robertson Stephens, Credit Suisse First Boston, and Salomon Brothers and worked several years as an executive for a restaurant technology company. He developed the RIPE model, a proprietary tool to assist with restaurant company valuations as well as a unique demand-based strategic mapping of the industry. As a part owner of a New York City restaurant, Mr. Westra has hands-on familiarity with the industry. He received an MBA from Duke University's Fuqua School and a BBA from the University of Massachusetts. Mr. Westra is a CFA charterholder.
