Bryan Seyfried

Mr. Seyfried is Managing Director and Head of Credit for Cowen and Company.  Mr. Seyfried previously served as Cowen Group’s Head of Strategy.  Before joining Cowen, he was with Dresdner Kleinwort where he served as the Head of Capital Markets in North and South America.  During his tenure, he built the proprietary credit trading business as well as the North American credit and structured credit origination, sales and trading business.  He was also a member of the Executive Committee, Americas Management Committee.  Prior to Dresdner Kleinwort, he was with Enron where he built and managed Enron Credit, Enron’s proprietary credit investment and trading platform based in London.  Previously, he was a risk management consultant with Price Waterhouse and worked at Goldman Sachs’ Quantitative Strategies and Risk Management unit.

Mr. Seyfried holds a BA in Applied Mathematics from Wabash College and an MBA in Finance from Tulane University’s Freeman School of Business.

Jed Stevens

Mr. Stevens is Managing Director and Co-Head of Credit Sales for Cowen and Company.  Mr. Stevens joined Cowen in 2016 as part of the acquisition of certain businesses from CRT Capital, where most recently he was Managing Director and Co-Head of Credit.  Before joining CRT, Mr. Stevens was a Director in distressed sales at Grantchester Securities, a division of Wasserstein Perella.

Mr. Stevens holds a Bachelor of Arts from St. Lawrence University.

Colin Ives

Mr. Ives is Managing Director and Co-Head of Credit Sales for Cowen.  Mr. Ives joined Cowen in 2016 as part of the acquisition of certain businesses from CRT Capital.  He was with CRT for 10 years, most recently as Managing Director and Co- Head of Credit Products. Prior to joining CRT, Mr. Ives spent 11 years at Lehman Brother in Credit and Convertible Trading.

He has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Middlebury College in Vermont.

Jay Cox

Mr. Cox is Managing Director and Head of Emerging Markets Sales and Trading.  Mr. Cox joined Cowen in 2016 as part of the acquisition of certain businesses from CRT Capital.  Mr. Cox was with CRT since 2009 and served as its Head of Global Emerging Market Sales and Trading.  Prior to CRT, Mr. Cox was Senior EM Trader at Citigroup and prior to that ran the EM and Asia Credit Trading businesses at RBS/Greenwich Capital and Merrill Lynch for North America and Western Europe.  Mr. Cox spent the first part of his career as a Fixed Income Trader and Assistant Portfolio Manager for a major institutional investor where he specialized in Corporate and Sovereign Debt trading.

Mr. Cox is a graduate of Marquette University and earned an MBA from the University of Chicago.  He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Brad Schwab

Mr. Schwab is Managing Director and Head of Special Investments, Cowen’s non-securities affiliate focused on global Special Situations and bankruptcy opportunities.  Mr. Schwab joined Cowen in 2016 as part of the acquisition of certain businesses from CRT Capital.  At CRT he was co-head of CRT’s Special Investments team responsible for identifying, analyzing and actively making markets in bankruptcy, liquidation, class action and other illiquid, non-correlated opportunistic transactions in addition to overseeing the team’s principal investment activities.  Prior to joining CRT, Mr. Schwab was a Principal at Triax Capital Advisors, a special situations advisory boutique focused on the middle market. While at Triax, Mr. Schwab was a recipient of the 2010 Turnaround of the Year Award for his work on the Agriprocessors bankruptcy. Mr. Schwab was also a Partner with Debt Acquisition Group, an investment fund focused on domestic bankruptcies and out of court restructurings. Earlier in his career, Mr. Schwab was a member of AIG’s private equity division where he was directly responsible for identifying, structuring and executing privately negotiated transactions in a diverse group of industries. Before joining AIG, Mr. Schwab spent three years in fixed income sales and trading at Bankers Trust and Bear Stearns.

Mr. Schwab holds an MA in international business and finance from the Fletcher School at Tufts University and graduated Cum Laude with a BA from the University of Rochester.

Nick Griffiths

Mr. Griffiths is Managing Director and Co-Head of Private Placement Trading for Cowen and Company.  Mr. Griffiths joined Cowen in 2016 as part of the acquisition of certain businesses from CRT Capital.  At CRT, as Managing Director and Partner, he traded private placements and project finance.  Before joining CRT, Mr. Griffiths held private placement trading roles at Barclays Capital and Merrill Lynch. Previous experience includes project finance at Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi and at Deutsche Morgan Grenfell.

He has a BA and MA from Oxford University, an MBA from Wharton and is a CFA charterholder.

Gabe Calvetti

Mr. Calvetti is Managing Director and Co-Head of Private Placement Trading for Cowen and Company.  Mr. Calvetti joined Cowen in 2016 as part of the acquisition of certain businesses from CRT Capital.  At CRT, he most recently served as Managing Director, Private Placement Trading.  Before joining CRT, Mr. Calvetti held credit trading roles at Barclays Capital, Merrill Lynch, and Lehman Brothers.  

He has a Bachelor of Arts from Rice University and an MBA from the Red McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas.  Between these degrees, Mr. Calvetti served in the United States Marine Corps.
