Peter N. Reikes

Mr. Reikes heads Cowen and Company's Global Health Care Investment Banking practice.
Mr. Reikes joined Cowen in 1999 following 14 years at PaineWebber Incorporated, most recently as head of PaineWebber’s health care investment banking practice. Throughout his 20-year career in health care investment banking, Mr. Reikes has managed a wide range of financings and merger and acquisition transactions for companies in the medical technology, life sciences, and health care services sectors. Mr. Reikes is a director of Ricerca Biosciences, LLC and the Accreditation Association of Ambulatory Health Care Institute of Quality Improvement. He is also a former director of Biocompatibles Ltd. and the limited partnership boards of Alkermes, Inc., Cephalon, Inc., Gensia, Inc., Genzyme Corporation, and Repligen Corporation.
Mr. Reikes received an M.B.A. in Finance from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. in Economics from the University of California at Los Angeles.

Declan P. Quirke

Mr. Quirke, Head of Health Care M&A for Cowen and Company, joined the firm in 2001 from Robertson Stephens where he was Co-Head of their East Coast M&A activities. Prior to Robertson, he was a Managing Director in PaineWebber’s M&A Group responsible for all of their Technology and Healthcare M&A. Mr. Quirke focuses on Cowen’s Biotechnology, Specialty Pharmaceutical and Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Services sectors in Europe and North America. Mr. Quirke has originated and executed a large number of transactions across a range of geographies and sectors, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, exclusive sales, spin offs and other assorted defense and financial advisory assignments. Mr. Quirke received an M.B.A. from Columbia University Graduate School of Business and a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from University College Dublin, Ireland. Prior to business school, Mr. Quirke was a Project Engineer for Babcock Power PLC, a nuclear and defense contractor in the UK.

John B. “Jack” Kiernan

Mr. Kiernan joined Cowen and Company in September 2006 as a Managing Director in Health Care Investment Banking. Prior to Cowen, Mr. Kiernan was Senior Managing Director and Head of Health Care Investment Banking at Leerink Swann & Company. Prior to that, Mr. Kiernan had been Managing Director and Head of the U.S. Health Care Group at Citigroup. Previously, he held senior positions at Merrill Lynch and Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette. Mr. Kiernan has over twenty years of investment banking experience advising health care companies on strategic and capital raising issues. Mr. Kiernan is a graduate of Dartmouth College and Harvard Business School.

Samuel E. Navarro

Mr. Navarro joined Cowen and Company in September 2005 following over four years at The Galleon Group running the Galleon Healthcare Fund as a Senior Portfolio Manager. While at Galleon, Mr. Navarro was responsible for all healthcare investments across all sectors, including pharmaceuticals/biopharmaceutical industries, medical technology & hospital supplies, and all areas of healthcare services. Prior to Galleon, Mr. Navarro was Global Head of Healthcare Investment Banking at ING Barings and prior to that, Senior Medical Technology Analyst and Head of Healthcare Equity Research at UBS Securities. Prior to that, Mr. Navarro held Senior Medical Technology equity research positions at Furman Selz Inc., and Needham & Company. Mr. Navarro has also served on the boards of MicroTherapeutics, Jomed, Photomedex and others. Mr. Navarro received an M.B.A. in Finance from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Science in Engineering from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.

Mark F. Secrest

Mr. Secrest is a Managing Director in Cowen and Company’s Health Care Investment Banking Group focusing on the medical technology and life science tools sectors. He is also the Chairman of Cowen’s Fairness Opinion Review Committee. He joined Cowen in April 1998 from UBS Securities where he spent three years in the Mergers & Acquisitions Department. Prior to joining UBS, Mr. Secrest spent more than five years at Kidder, Peabody & Co. Mr. Secrest holds a B.A. from Stanford University and an M.B.A. from The Stern School of Business at New York University.

Jamie Streator

Mr. Streator is a Managing Director in Cowen and Company’s Health Care Investment Banking Group focusing on life sciences companies. Prior to joining Cowen, Mr. Streator was Managing Director, Head of Health Care Investment Banking at Susquehanna Financial Group. Prior to Susquehanna, Mr. Streator was with Thomas Weisel Partners, where he founded the Health Care Investment Banking Group, and served as Partner and Co-Head of Health Care Investment Banking. Mr. Streator also served as a Managing Director and Co-Head of Health Care Investment Banking at Hambrecht & Quist (now JPMorgan). Mr. Streator received his Bachelor of Arts from Princeton University in 1980 with a major in History and a Masters in Business Administration from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1985 with a major in Finance.

Marc P. Chaput
Director marc.chaput@cowen.com Marc Chaput joined Cowen and Company in August 2005. Prior to Cowen, Mr. Chaput spent over six years in the Health Care Group at Deutsche Bank. Prior to that, he held positions in corporate finance at PaineWebber Inc. and in equity research at Pell, Rudman & Co., an investment management firm. Mr. Chaput’s experience includes corporate finance and advisory services to a variety of emerging growth health care clients. Mr. Chaput holds a B.A. from Bates College and an M.B.A. from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.

D. Ryan Daws

Ryan Daws joined Cowen and Company’s mergers and acquisitions department from Cowen’s general corporate finance department in 2000. Prior to Cowen, he worked at Delphi Automotive Systems’ European headquarters in Paris. Mr. Daws graduated magna cum laude from the University of South Carolina with a B.S. in finance and organizational management and received an M.B.A. in international business from the University of South Carolina MIBS program.

Joseph Siletto

Joe Siletto joined Cowen in March 2007 as a Director in Boston. From 2003-2007, he worked for SVB Alliant (a subsidiary of Silicon Valley Bank) as a Principal and Co-Head of the Life Sciences Group. Before joining SVB Alliant, Mr. Siletto was a Vice President with Banc of America Securities from 1998-2003. Mr. Siletto’s experience includes corporate finance and advisory services for a variety of emerging growth health care clients. Prior to receiving his M.B.A. Mr. Siletto was in business development for a Beijing-based joint venture between Siemens, Deutsche Telecom and China Unicom.
Mr. Siletto holds an M.B.A. from The Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley and a Bachelor's of Arts in History from Duke University where he was also a member of the varsity lacrosse team. He is proficient in Mandarin Chinese.
