John Nelson Managing Director Head of Aerospace & Defense Investment Banking john.nelson@cowen.com Mr. Nelson is a Managing Director and Head of Cowen and Company’s Aerospace & Defense Group. Prior to joining Cowen in 2007, Mr. Nelson was a Managing Director in the M&A Group at Friedman, Billings, Ramsey following the acquisition of Legacy Partners Group. Previously, Mr. Nelson was a Managing Director at Bank of America Securities, where he headed the Technology & Business Services Group. Prior to Bank of America, Mr. Nelson worked at Salomon Smith Barney and Bear Stearns, where he focused on technology-related mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Nelson received an MBA with Distinction from NYU’s Stern School of Business, and a Master of International Public Policy with Honors from the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at Johns Hopkins University. He has a BA in Management from Gettysburg College. Prior to business school, Mr. Nelson served as a Captain in the U.S. Army.
