David T. Ketsdever
Managing Director
Head of Technology Investment Banking

Mr. Ketsdever is Head of Technology Investment Banking for Cowen and Company. Prior to joining Cowen, Mr. Ketsdever was President of SVB Alliant, a leading technology advisory firm and a subsidiary of SVB Financial Group where he was also a member of the Group Executive Committee. Prior to joining SVB Alliant, Mr. Ketsdever founded and was CEO of Green Ridge Systems, a software company which developed an information solution for financial services professionals. Previously, he headed and built Merrill Lynch’s Global Software banking practice, and also worked for Montgomery Securities where he was a managing director of the Information Technology Group. Mr. Ketsdever also has held positions at Bankers Trust Corporation and Goldman, Sachs & Co.

Mr. Ketsdever holds an A.B. in Economics with Honors from the University of Chicago and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Eric Cohen

Mr. Cohen heads Cowen and Company’s Digital Media, Internet and New Media investment banking practice. He joined Cowen in 1998 and is based in San Francisco. Prior to joining Cowen, Mr. Cohen was a Managing Director and shareholder of Volpe Brown Whelan & Co., where he specialized in financing emerging growth companies in the health care and high technology industries. Mr. Cohen was previously a Managing Director at J.P. Morgan, where he helped to found that firm’s West Coast Investment Banking practice.
Prior to joining J.P. Morgan, Mr. Cohen was a Director in High Yield Investment Banking for Credit Suisse First Boston in New York. At CSFB, he was responsible for both financial sponsor coverage and origination of high yield transactions. Mr. Cohen received an M.B.A. from Stanford University and an Sc.B. from Brown University.

Owen L. Hart

Mr. Hart is a Managing Director of Mergers & Acquisitions with Cowen and Company. In his more than 15 years in investment banking, Mr. Hart has advised clients on over 100 M&A engagements. Prior to joining Cowen, he was a Founding Partner of Thomas Weisel Partners and Head of Consumer, Business Services and Semiconductor M&A. Prior to founding Thomas Weisel Partners, Mr. Hart served as Senior Managing Director at Montgomery Securities, overseeing M&A in the Consumer and Business Services sectors. He began his investment banking career at Drexel Burnham Lambert and also worked at Lazard Freres & Co before joining Montgomery Securities in 1994. Mr. Hart holds an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, an M.L.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. from Tufts University.

Matthew P. Kane

Mr. Kane has ten years of Mergers and Acquisitions advisory experience, predominantly dedicated to technology and software. Prior to Cowen and Company, Mr. Kane was a Mergers and Acquisitions specialist at Thomas Weisel Partners in San Francisco, as well as Merrill Lynch in San Francisco, New York, and Sydney. Mr. Kane has extensive transaction experience including buy-side, sell-side, cross-border, hostile, and defense advisory assignments. Mr. Kane received an A.B. in Economics and Philosophy from Dartmouth College.

Peter J. Siwinski

Mr. Siwinski is a Managing Director and heads Cowen and Company’s Communications and Computing Systems investment banking effort. Prior to joining Cowen, Mr. Siwinski was at Thomas Weisel Partners, where he helped found the firm’s Storage and Computing Systems practice. Prior to TWP, Mr. Siwinski was in the Telecommunications Investment Banking Group at Merrill Lynch in New York. Mr. Siwinski received a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and a J.D./M.B.A. with Honors from Duke University.

Joshua M. Epstein

Mr. Epstein joined Cowen and Company in July 1996 and has the longest continuous tenure in the Cowen Technology Group. Mr. Epstein provides financing and strategic advisory services to technology companies with a primary focus in the Electronics sector and additional transaction expertise in the Software, Internet, IT Services and Telecommunications sectors. Mr. Epstein received a B.A. in Economics and Literature from Yeshiva University.

Peter A. Petitt

Mr. Petitt is a Director and heads Cowen’s Semiconductor investment banking effort. Prior to joining Cowen and Company in 2004, Mr. Petitt was a Vice President with SoundView Technology Group, where he covered companies in the Semiconductor Manufacturing industry. From 1999 through 2002, Mr. Petitt worked in Robertson Stephens' Technology Investment Banking Group in San Francisco and in London, where he most recently covered Semiconductor Device and Equipment companies throughout Europe. He also worked in the M&A practice of Chase Securities Inc in New York from 1994 to 1997. Mr. Petitt received his B.A. from Colorado College and his M.B.A. from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.
