Benefits
Adoption/Foster Placement Leave – Employees who are the primary care givers are entitled to 12 weeks of paid leave.
Bereavement Leave – Employees may take up to five days per year for the death of an immediate family member.
Emergency Backup Childcare - Bright Horizons, an emergency back-up child care center, is available to all full-time employees in the New York, Boston and San Francisco offices.
Emergency Family Care Leave - Employees may take up to three days per year to care for family members in the event of illness or injury.
Maternity Leave – Women are entitled to 12 weeks of paid maternity leave. Firm policy states that such maternity leave will not affect an employee’s bonus award.
On-site Lactation Rooms – Private rooms have been designated in the New York, Boston and San Francisco offices for mothers returning from maternity leave.
Paternity Leave - Fathers may take five consecutive days of paid time off within one month of the birth or adoption of a child.
Same-Sex Domestic Partner Benefits – Available to full-time employees.
Subsidized Gym Memberships – Discounted gym memberships are available to employees at New York Sports Clubs, Equinox and Sports Club/LA.
Programs
Catalyst - Cowen is a member of Catalyst which is the leading nonprofit research and advisory organization working with businesses to expand opportunities for women. The women of Cowen have access to Catalyst’s research and benchmarking studies, articles and invitations to events.
Corporate Mortgage and Financial Programs – Available to employees through Guardhill Financial, Wells Fargo and Faughnan Financial.
Entertainment Discounts - Cowen offers discounts to Broadway shows, comedy & live entertainment events through Plum Benefits.
Flexible Work Arrangements - At management discretion, flexible work schedules may be available to employees.
Mentor Program – Senior professionals are available to offer guidance and support to junior level employees who are interested in participating in this program.
Pre-tax Transportation (E-Trac) – Allows employees to use pre-tax dollars for monthly commutation costs.
Take our Daughters and Sons to Work Day - Held in April each year, employees invite their sons, daughters, nieces and nephews to experience a day in the Cowen offices.
TEAK Fellowship - The TEAK Fellowship helps talented New York City students from low-income families gain admission to and succeed at top high schools and colleges. Each summer, Cowen encourages managers to hire and mentor a Teak Fellow; their internships provide them with valuable knowledge and work experience.

Training
Cowen provides training to facilitate constructive dialogue about issues such as diversity and workplace harassment. It is the Firm's policy to maintain zero tolerance for all discriminatory practices, including harassment. Employees are also encouraged to attend job related industry seminars and training. |

Tuition Reimbursement
|
Cowen supports and encourages employees to pursue formal education through our Tuition Reimbursement Program. Provided your program of study is job related and is approved by senior management, the Firm reimburses up to $2,000 per semester (a maximum of $6,000 per year) for school tuition.
