Mr. Porphy is Head of Cowen and Company's Industrials and Financial Sponsors Coverage effort. He joined the firm in 2010 from Barclays Capital where he was Head of Corporate Advisory M&A and Financial Sponsors Idea Generation. Previously, Mr. Porphy spent 14 years at Credit Suisse as Head of Financial Sponsors M&A and Co-Head of Middle Market M&A. Mr. Porphy has over 20 years experience working with middle market private equity firms and corporate clients on strategic advisory and capital raising issues across multiple industries. He began his investment banking career at Lazard Freres & Co.
Mr. Porphy received a BA from Muhlenberg College, where he is currently a member of The Board of Trustees and Chairman of the Finance and Investment Committee. Mr. Porphy is also a Guest Lecturer on "M&A and Ethics" at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania for first year MBA students.
